After getting a taste of a big-time atmosphere in the season opener against Huntley, South Elgin showed Saturday that it can handle adversity.

The Storm broke open a close game with a solid second half, picking up a 51-43 win over Jacobs at the Dundee-Crown Tournament.

A 13-3 burst in the fourth quarter built up enough of a cushion at 49-33 for South Elgin to withstand a late Jacobs rally.
