(BURBANK) A man who was found dead after a house fire nearly a month ago in southwest suburban Burbank has been identified.

Robert Krok, 50, has been positively identified as the male who was found dead after the blaze on the night of Nov. 4 in a home in the 8600 block of South Major in Burbank, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Krok lived in the home.

Crews put out the fire and found a man dead in the front room, police said at the time. The body was burned beyond recognition.

An autopsy is inconclusive pending toxicology results, according to the medical examiner’s office.

There were no signs of trauma or foul play to the body, police said.

No one else was hurt in the fire.
