Bartlett Road bridge over Jane Addams Tollway to reopen Wednesday

(HOFFMAN ESTATES) A bridge over the Jane Addams Tollway in Hoffman Estates will be open to traffic Wednesday for the first time in months, following a reconstruction project.

The new Bartlett Road bridge over the tollway (I-90) will open in the late afternoon, according to a statement from the Illinois Tollway. The new concrete bridge has one lane and shoulders in both directions, as well as space for a future multi-use bicycle and pedestrian path.

It was has been closed to traffic since this spring to allow for the construction work.

The bridge is one of 11 that will be reconstructed as part of the $2.5 billion project, which will build a new wider roadway on the Jane Addams, the tollway said. Nearly one million travelers daily use the road linking Rockford, O’Hare Airport and downtown Chicago, tollway officials said.
