Man shot in South Shore

A man was shot Thursday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.

The 20-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk about 2 p.m. in the 7000 block of South East End Avenue when three people walked up and fired shots from multiple weapons, police said. The shooters than ran away.

The man was shot in the buttocks and taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
