A man was wounded in an East Garfield Park neighborhood shooting on Saturday evening.

The 33-year-old was walking in the 3200 block of West Maypole about 6:45 p.m. when a gunman walked up and fired shots in his direction, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

He was shot in the back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition was stabilized, Sweeney said.
