Work begins Monday on I-55 ramps in Romeoville

(ROMEOVILLE) Evening construction on I-55 near southwest suburban Romeoville starts Monday night, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced.

Crews are building embankments in advance of building future ramps at Weber Road, IDOT said in a statement.

In order to complete the work, construction will take place nightly from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. starting Monday, IDOT said. The left shoulder of the inbound and outbound entrance ramps from Weber Road will be permanently closed to motorists.

A lane on northbound Weber Road will be closed as well, IDOT said. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra travel time.
