The election has just ended and a prominent tea party group is taking aim at 2016, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, is directly in its crosshairs.

The Tea Party Express is announcing plans to try to drive him out of office in the next election, The Hill reports.

“We fired him (Tuesday) night as Senate majority leader, now our focus is on retiring him once and for all,” Tea Party Express executive director Taylor Budowich. “That’s what the Tea Party’s focus is gong to be right out of the gate. We aren’t going to be sitting on our hands waiting for a race to come to us.”

The group is hoping persistence pays off. In 2010, it spent more than $1 million trying to defeat him.

“Nevada joined in with the rest of the nation in demanding a new, conservative vision for America,” Budowich said in a release. “We must launch into 2016 with the same enthusiasm and motivation that defined 2014.”
