Masked men rob Tinley Park cell phone store

(TINLEY PARK) Police are searching for two armed men who led officers on a car chase Wednesday after robbing a southwest suburban cell phone store.

About 9:20 p.m., the masked men robbed the Verizon store at 7101 183rd St., Tinley Park Chief of Police Steve Neubauer said.

One of the suspects had a gun, and they drove off in a silver 2003 Infiniti FX35 after taking several cell phones, Neubauer said. No one was hurt.

A responding officer pulled into the parking lot as they were driving away, and chased the vehicle onto I-80 before losing sight of it, he said.

Police in nearby Mokena also spotted the vehicle and tried to stop it, but could not, he said.
