Man shot to death in South Shore apartment building

A 22-year-old man was shot and killed in his South Shore neighborhood apartment building early Friday.

About 1 a.m., Lydell Lynch was found shot several times in the doorway on the second-floor apartment in the 7300 block of South Blackstone, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Lynch, who lived in the building where he was shot, was taken to Jackson Park Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:13 a.m., authorities said.

Police did not have an update on the investigation Friday night. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.
