Police warn South Side residents of robberies, garage burglaries

Police are warning South Side residents after a series of robberies and garage burglaries throughout the last month.

In four separate robberies, one or two males have walked up to people, pushed them to the ground and taken their property, according to a community alert from Deering District Chicago Police.

The robberies happened:

–Oct. 16, about 11:50 p.m. in the 2900 block of South Lowe;

–Oct. 27, about 4:50 a.m. in the 200 block of West 47th Street;

–Nov. 3, about 10:50 a.m. in the 3200 block of South Ashland, and

–Nov. 4, about 8 p.m. in the 400 block of West 47th Street.

Additionally, at least one burglar has broken into three different garages and stolen property, police said.

The burglaries happened to garages:

–Oct. 10, overnight in the 4100 block of South Emerald, and

–Nov. 1 overnight in the 500 blocks of 45th Place and 45th Street
