(EAST CHICAGO, Ind.) A Hammond man died Saturday afternoon after he was shot in East Chicago, Ind.

Isaac R. Thomas, 34 of the 7200 block of Arkansas Avenue in Hammond, was shot in the 4000 block of Grand Boulevard, according to the Lake County Coroner’s office. He was pronounced dead at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago at 12:48 p.m.

Thomas died from a gunshot wound, and his death was ruled a homicide, the coroner’s office said.

East Chicago police could not provide details on the shooting Saturday evening.
