A man has died three months after he was one of three people shot in a bar in Chatham on the South Side.

James Watson, 61, died Wednesday. He was shot in the back early on Aug. 2 at a bar in the 700 block of East 83rd Street, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He and two other men, ages 32 and 39, heard an argument, then shots were fired, police said at the time.

Watson, of the 7300 block of South Union, was pronounced dead at Rush University Medical Center at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday.
