‘Community’ survives — yet again

“Community,” the TV show that simply refuses to die, has overcome all odds and will return for a sixth season — but not on broadcast or cable, but in the world of digital.

The show, starring Joel McHale, will launch it’s new season on Yahoo, with 13 new episodes planned to air this fall on Yahoo Screen.

The show was canceled by NBC last month, and most industry observers figured that was that.

However, a last-minute deal with Yahoo will keep the show alive for its hard-core group of loyal viewers. “Community” creator Dan Harmon will return as the show’s executive producer.
