The critically acclaimed River North Dance Chicago today announced its 25th season of programming, beginning with the company’s fall engagement (Oct. 8-11) at the Harris Theater (205 E. Randolph).
The season includes:
FALL ENGAGEMENT
— The U.S. premiere of Ivan Perez’s “Flesh” (Oct 8-11): created for eight dancers, the work is inspired by Keith Douglas’ poem “The Knife.”
— A yet-to-be-named world premiere created by Frank Chaves for six male dancers, and a piano and cello score by Zoe Keating, Secret Garden, Anibel Arias y Osvaldo Montes and Ezio Bosso.
— “Reality of a Dreamer,” the 1992 iconic RNDC piece by the company’s founding artistic director Sherry Zunker, set to the music of the Eurythmics.
— Frank Chavez’ “The Mourning,” the 2003 work representing Chaves’ 20-year artistic contributions to the company.

— The family-friendly performance of “Street Beat: Dance Through the Decades (Oct. 10 at noon), an educational performance teaching students about the historical and social conditions of the 20th century and how cultural underpinnings influenced dance through the decades, from the Roaring 20s through the hip-hop of the ’90s. SPRING ENGAGEMENT
— A one-night only performance of a world premiere work for the entire company by Adam Barruch on March 28 at the Auditorium Theatre (50 E. Congress) as part of the “Made in Chicago” dance series. The program will also feature a new work by RNDC dancer/rehearsal assistant Hanna Brictson for the company’s female dancers.
