New Darlene Love album being planned

Singer Darlene Love spent most of her professional life toiling fairly anonymously — as a background singer to some of the planet’s most famous entertainers.

Her story was featured in “20 Feet from Stardom,” which won the best feature documentary Oscar earlier this year. Who can forget Darlene joining the director onstage at the Academy Awards and breaking into song — to the delight of people around the world!

Well, now Love has a new project in the works. The E Street Band’s Steven Van Zandt is producing a new album — that will highlight Love’s fab voice — front and center.

Showbiz411.com reports Van Zandt has snared some pretty impressive talent to pen songs for Love’s CD, including Bruce Springsteen (natch!), Elvis Costello, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil — and possibly Carole King.
