Marian Catholic’s Ashton Millender commits to DePaul

During the regular season, junior Ashton Millender was Marian Catholic’s top scorer. During the state playoff,s she was clutch when it counted the most.

On Friday it was announced that Millender, who was a leader for the Spartans in their run to a Class 4A state title in 2012-13, has verbally committed to DePaul.

Millender, a 5-10 guard, averaged 15.5 points per game and hit 75 three-pointers this past season for the Spartans, who beat Rolling Meadows 48-47 in a dramatic Class 4A state championship game.

She hit one of the most memorable shots of the season, just past halfcourt to beat Marist at the buzzer, that vaulted Marian Catholic into the supersectionals.
