THE SKINNY

Montini held a 7-0 lead early in the second half of a girls lacrosse sectional final at Lake Forest Wednesday before Barrington (15-7) scored four straight goals. Montini’s Frankie Kamely then found the back of the net twice within a minute to preserve the win.

TURNING POINT

Montini (16-5) got off to quite a fast start as Kamely, a senior, and sophomore Mary Kate Condon scored within the first 24 seconds. Montini senior goalie Jackie Morelos only had to make one save in the first half, as Montini held a 5-0 lead.

THE STAR

Condon led all scorers with six goals as she sped past the Barrington defense throughout the contest. Not far behind was Kamely, who showed her own burst of speed while registering five goals.

BY THE NUMBERS

Morelos ended up with five saves, while her counterpart for Barrington, senior Haley Proebsting, stopped eight shots. Junior Rachel Morin and sophomore Elizabeth Filley paced Barrington’s attack with three goals apiece.

QUOTABLE

“We [Kamely and Condon] just work well together. We always try to create opportunities for each other.” — Condon
