Here is an update on former Downers Grove South volleyball player Casey Patton.

Patton, who was diagnosed with a inoperable brain tumor while in high school, is completing two months of proton therapy treatment at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and will be heading home soon. But she has to take care of some business first.

“When your treatment is done, you get to ring the ‘Good Luck’ bell and everyone in the proton center gathers around you,” said her mother, Diane Patton. “It is a celebration. I think January and February were the two longest months on record!”
