There has been plenty of talk about USC-bound running back Ty Isaac of Joliet Catholic, who will not enroll in January as planned.

“One of my classes was a hassle,” Isaac said. “So I won’t be able to enroll early, but it’s not a big deal, though.”

Another thing that Isaac is confident about, is the status of his commitment.

“I’m good right now with my commitment,” Isaac said. “I know they didn’t have the best season but it would have to be something other than that for me to want to be elsewhere.”

Isaac visited earlier in the season, and had plenty of positive things to say about his future as a Trojan.

“I am looking forward to just being able to play at the next level at a nationally-competitive school,” Isaac said. “And obviously the whole college experience in itself.”

In the meantime, Isaac leaves for his official visit to Southern California Thursday, and will continue preparation for the Under Armor All-American game.

Jackson With Two More

Glenbard North running back Justin Jackson is coming off a runner-up finish in the Class 8A state championship, and since then has been visited by Indiana, Toledo, Northwestern, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa and several others.

And every school that stopped by had good things to say about Jackson.

“They were just saying how I had a great year,” Jackson said. “They wanted to get me down for junior days and they wanted to stay in touch. They also told me I was doing a great job keeping my grades up academically.”

Plus, Jackson picked up offers from Iowa and Vanderbilt.

“I really was excited because I have liked Vanderbilt for a while and I have talked to several of their coaches and watched a few of their games,” Jackson said. “I would really like to get out to visit Vanderbilt and Iowa again, as well. I went to a game there this year and it was crazy.

‘‘When I visited Iowa it was a close game, and I got to see all their practice facilities. I have a bunch of friends from Glenbard North that go to Iowa, and they love it there.”

Thorson Adds Toledo

Wheaton North junior quarterback Clayton Thorson has added Toledo to his list of offers.

“They were at school and I talked to them and they told me they are offering me,” Thorson said. ‘‘One thing I like about Toledo is that they like to throw the ball a lot and spread it out with their offense.”
