Glenbrook North freshman Nick Hardy won his first Mid-American Junior Golf Tour event Sunday in a return trip to the site of the Class 3A state meet at the Den at Fox Creek in Bloomington.

Hardy won the rain-shortened 27-hole Prairie State Preview to defeat another pair of freshmen: Andrew Barrett from Lake Forest and Arlington Heights resident and Buffalo Grove student Douglas Ghim.

One of Hardy’s GBN teammates, Nick Jan, tied for fifth. Here are the complete results.

Hardy tied for 14th in the IHSA state meet in October. Ghim tied for third. Ghim defeated Hardy last summer in the Illinois Junior Golf Association’s Chick Evans Match Play Championship.
