It takes 2 minutes, fellows

Now this gets me steamed.

This is aimed at announcers at high school ball games. How hard is it to pronounce someone’ s name correctly? How many times do we hear the public address announcer butcher a kid or coach’s name? It’s irritating that’s for sure and borderline rude.

You see the announcer sitting and waiting for the game to begin. Do you think that person studies the player’s names? Of course not. It’s sheer arrogance. Now, I did witness Mr. Nowicki at Stevenson talking to the opposing coach about how to pronounce certain names. That’s exactly what needs to be done. Get off your chair Mr. Announcer and walk to the opposing bench and get the names right. There are no excuses here.
