Mundelein golf fails to advance (sort of)

That Mundelein boys golf team had worked hard this fall. Only to be terrible disappointed with its 4th-place showing in the McHenry Regional last week. That means golf season is over for coach Todd Parola’s team. In better news, some of the Mustangs golfers were able to advance to the Lake Bluff Sectional as individuals. They went by the names of Sean Forsythe, Eric Steagall, Bryan Wiener, Grant Heelan, Will Petlak and Eric Nelson.

Huh? The team flops and 6 players go on? I wonder if the IHSA had this in mind when they formulated their plan. Also since the team failed does that mean these players won’t be able to use the team bus? It’s quite odd but good for the Mundelein team, rather individuals.
