After shooting a 79 in the regional round, Guiao has broken 80 in the first two state series rounds of her career. Before Lauren Guiao, that was the last year Buffalo Grove qualified a golfer for the state meet whose name wasn’t Grace Kil. From 2009-12, Kil made it every year. At the 1999 state tournament, Shannon Byrne fired a two-day score of 169, finishing in a three-way tie for 18th.
