Rauner reveals donors to his inaugural festivities — he’s not one

Gov.-elect Bruce Rauner released a list Saturday of contributors to his inaugural festivities.

Noticeably absent from the list was Rauner himself. The Winnetka Republican has taken flak over the amount of his own money he put into his campaign, with departing Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn telling the Chicago Sun-Times this week that Rauner’s move to deposit $20 million into his campaign fund was “thumbing his nose” at Illinois campaign-finance reform.

Rauner countered Saturday that “the special interest groups that make their money from the government are the problem in our political donation system.”
