Des Plaines man charged with sexually abusing girl

A Des Plaines man was ordered held Saturday on $750,000 bail, accused of sexually abusing a girl several times while the girl was 11 to 13 years old.

Delio Vasquez-Martinez, 25, faces two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

He’s accused of touching the girl’s genitals over and under her clothes between April 2012 and March 2014, Assistant State’s Attorney Robert Mack said a a court hearing Saturday.

The girl’s family contacted authorities, according to Mack, who said Vasquez-Martinez admitted he touched the girl “because she was attractive, cute and skinny” even though he knew it was wrong.
