Two armed and masked robbers held up a bank Saturday morning in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the South Side.

The suspects, both showing handguns, walked into the U.S. Bank branch at 600 W. 37th St. about 9:20 a.m., the FBI said. They then ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

During the robbery, the suspects were pointing their guns at the tellers and yelling “get down,” according to a police report.

One of the suspects jumped over the counter and ordered a teller to put money into a black bag he was holding, the police report said.

The 5-foot-10, black males were wearing hooded sweatshirts and reflective vests, the FBI said. Both were of medium-to-heavy build with white masks over their faces.

The police report described the suspects as wearing construction vests and surgical masks.

Anyone with information on the robbery should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
