Was it a Freudian slip by John Elway to open Tuesday’s press conference to announce the firing of John Fox?

He meant to thank Fox for his four years of service and accidentally thanked … himself.

Is it really possible to accidentally talk about yourself? I can see thanking some other John, like John Lennon, or John Entwistle or Jon Voight.

But thanking yourself? While announcing the firing of someone else?

The Bears will surely know which John to thank if they end up hiring Fox in the coming weeks.
