Man critically wounded in West Englewood shooting

A man was critically wounded in a what police believe was a gang-related shooting Wednesday morning in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 28-year-old man was walking down the street in the 6900 block of South Justine just after 11 a.m. when he heard shots and realized he’d been struck, police said.

He was shot twice in the upper left leg and once in the right side of his abdomen, police said. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in critical condition.

The man was initially “extremely uncooperative” with investigators, according to police, who said he is a documented gang member.
