A west suburban man faces up to seven years in prison after being convicted of molesting a child younger than 13 at his home last year.

Jose A. Rivas Lechuga, 38, was convicted late Tuesday by a jury of two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the Kane County state’s attorney’s office.

On July 12, 2014, Lechuga sexually abused the victim, whom he knew, at his home in the 700 block of Columbia Street in Aurora, prosecutors said.

Associate Judge Clint Hull set sentencing for 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at the courthouse in St. Charles, according to prosecutors. He faces between two and seven years in prison and must register for life as a sexual offender.

He remains in the Kane County jail, where he has been held since his arrest on a $100,000 bond.
