Related home burglaries reported in Austin, West Garfield Park

Police are alerting West Side residents of five recent home burglaries thought to be related in the Austin and West Garfield Park neighborhoods.

In each burglary, a person kicks or pries open the back door of the home and takes property, Area North detectives said in an alert. Exact times for when the burglaries happened weren’t known.

The burglaries happened:

-Between Jan. 5 and Jan. 6 in the 100 block of North Lorel;

-Jan. 7 in the 5100 block of West Monroe;

-Jan. 8 in the 5200 block of West Adams;

-Jan. 9 in the 5200 block of West Congress;

-Jan. 12 in the 4200 block of West Congress.
