Mechanical issues disrupt Metra MD-W service

Trains on Metra’s Milwaukee District/West Line are experiencing delays and service changes Thursday morning because of mechanical problems in northwest suburban Elgin.

Inbound train No. 2210, which was scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 7:36 a.m., is stopped at National Street in Elgin because of mechanical problems and is experiencing extensive delays, according to a service alert on Metra’s website.

Train No. 2216, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 8:02 a.m., will only stop at Itasca, Franklin Park and Western Avenue, Metra said.

Train No. 2214, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 7:57 a.m., is opearting 50 minutes behind and will accommodate commuters for train No. 2222, scheduled to depart Elgin at 7:24 a.m. and arrive in Chicago at 8:35 a.m., Metra said.
