$270 million Mega Millions ticket sold in Illinois

CHICAGO — Illinois Lottery players might want to check their tickets. Someone out there won an estimated $270 million in a Mega Millions drawing this week, but has yet to come forward to claim the prize.

That’s the third largest jackpot since Mega Millions began in 2002.

The Illinois Lottery says the winner matched all the numbers drawn Friday — 26, 32, 44, 45 and 58 — plus the Mega Ball of 11.

It was the first jackpot win of 2015 and the first by an Illinois player since May 2012.

Two $1 million second-tier prizes were also won in Friday’s drawing by players in Florida and New York.
