Man robs Gold Coast bank

A man robbed a bank Thursday evening in the Gold Coast neighborhood on the Near North Side.

The robbery happened at Oak Bank, 1000 N. Rush, about 5:40 p.m., according to the FBI.

The suspect is a 20 to 25-year-old black man, who is about 5-foot-8 and was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a winter hat, the FBI said.

He did not show a weapon, and the FBI classified the incident as a non-takeover robbery.

So far in 2015, there have been 16 bank robberies in the Chicago area, according to the FBI.
