Man shot to death in New City

A man was shot to death early Wednesday on a porch in the New City neighborhood on the South Side.

Four males approached a home in the 5300 block of South May about 12:15 a.m. and knocked on the door, police said.

When 25-year-old Heath Huntspon came out onto the porch, one of the males produced a handgun and shot him twice in the chest, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Huntspon, who live on the same block where he was shot, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner’s office.
