FedEx driver robbed at gunpoint in Englewood, stolen truck found

A FedEx delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint and his truck stolen Thursday morning in Englewood.

The driver was robbed by a male armed with a gun in the 7000 block of South Peoria just before 10 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

The suspect then drove away in the truck, Estrada said. The unoccupied vehicle was found a short time later in an alley a few blocks away near the 6500 block of South Peoria.

The driver was not hurt and no one is in custody, Estrada said.

“We are relieved that the driver was not harmed and thank law enforcement for their efforts in retrieving the vehicle,” a statement from a FedEx spokesman said.

“We are cooperating fully with the authorities during their investigation but have no further information at this time.”

It was not immediately known if anything was taken from the truck.
