A northwest Indiana man is facing child pornography charges, and police say federal charges may also be filed because some of the crimes may have been committed out of state.
On Monday, Indiana State Police and the FBI Gang Response Investigative Team executed a search warrant issued by the Porter County prosecutors at 339 Briarwood in South Haven, Ind., according to state police.
The warrant, filed in response to an out-of-state investigation, led to the arrest of 31-year-old Zachary D. Berkshire, who lived at the Briarwood address, a statement from ISP said.
“Examination of articles taken from the home” identified a 13-year-old Lake County child as a possible victim, ISP said.
Berkshire was charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography, both felonies; and child molestation charges are pending in Lake County, ISP said. Federal charges may also be filed, the statement said.
Berkshire was being held at the Porter County Jail in Valparaiso.
