Prairie Ridge knocks off Hampshire

With first-place Hampshire visiting on Friday night, a struggling Prairie Ridge team knew it had to be the aggressor on its home floor.

“You better have a lot of energy to play Hampshire. They’re an outstanding team. They put good numbers up on everybody,” Prairie Ridge coach Corky Card said. “Our little mantra was ‘Compete or get beat,’ because they really bring it every night.”

The Wolves battled for three quarters and then pulled away with a big fourth to beat the Whip-Purs, 64-50, in a Fox Valley Conference Fox Division game at Prairie Ridge High School.
