Man critically injured in South Side shooting

A man was seriously injured in a Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood shooting on the South Side on Friday evening.

The 22-year-old was shot multiple times in the chest about 5:40 p.m. in the 0-100 block of East 67th Street, police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said, citing preliminary information.

The man, a documented gang member, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.

Details on the circumstances of the shooting weren’t immediately available.
