Two people were hospitalized after an SUV hit a pole on Lake Shore Drive near the South Loop late Saturday.

About 10:45 p.m., a 28-year-old man driving a Jeep Liberty northbound in the 1300 block of Lake Shore Drive sideswiped two other vehicles and crashed into a traffic signal pole, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The driver and another adult in the Jeep were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where their conditions were stabilized, Greer said.

Traffic citations were expected to be issued to the driver.
