A man was shot to death Friday evening in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the South Side.

Tyree D. Harris, 18, was standing outside about 6:15 p.m. in the 6800 block of South Western when someone walked up and shot him in the head, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office

Harris, whose home address was not immediately known, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 8:18 p.m., the medical examiners’ office said. An autopsy Saturday ruled his death a homicide.

Police said he was a documented gang member.
