Katie Holmes is heading back to the small screen. The actress will be seen in what is being termed a major guest starring role in the third season of the hit  Showtime drama series “Ray Donovan,” starring Liev Schreiber as Los Angeles’ best-known professional “fixer.”

Holmes will play a businesswoman named Paige, the daughter of a billionaire producer played by Ian McShane, who enlists Donovan’s services.

Holmes, the former wife of Tom Cruise, first found fame on the long-running broadcast teen drama “Dawson’s Creek.” Among her film credits are “The Ice Storm,” “Go,” “Wonder Boys,” “Pieces of April,” “Batman Begins,” “Thank You for Smoking” and “The Gift.”
