State police are investigating after a woman’s car was struck by a bullet early Friday while she was driving on the Stevenson Expressway (I-55) on the South Side.

The car was shot about 1:15 a.m. on the ramp from southbound Lake Shore Drive to the outbound Stevenson, Illinois State Police Trooper Julian Torres said.

One round struck the car, Torres said. The woman, who was the only occupant, was not injured.

Police are investigating where the shot came from, Torres said.
