Man shot on Near West Side

A man was wounded in a Near West Side shooting Thursday night.

The 21-year-old was walking in the 2400 block of West Taylor about 7 p.m. when someone walked up and shot him, police said.

The victim, who was shot in the leg, left the scene and notified police. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition had stabilized, police said.
