One man was killed and another man was critically wounded early Thursday in a West Pullman neighborhood shooting on the Far South Side.

The two men, 24 and 29, were both shot in the head about 2:05 a.m. near 119th and Yale, said police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines, citing preliminary information.

The 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 29-year-old was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Gaines said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the fatality, but did not release additional information early Thursday.
