Man shot to death in West Englewood identified

Authorities have identified a man who was shot to death in the West Englewood neighborhood on Friday evening.

Leanrew Harper, 34, was found outside with multiple gunshot wounds about 5:40 p.m. in the 7000 block of South Honore, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Harper, who also lived in the 7000 block of South Honore, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:52 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

Police said the man had documented gang ties.
