SELMA, Ind. — Indiana State Police say an Illinois pilot has survived a single-engine plane crash in eastern Indiana.
Indiana State Police say 59-year-old Richard Kingston of Norris City, Illinois, was conscious and alert when troopers located him Sunday afternoon. Authorities say they responded to a report of a plane crash in southeastern Delaware County.
Troopers were taken by tractor to the scene, where they found Kingston. He was the only person aboard. Emergency workers extricated him from the 1990 single-engine Raytheon aircraft. It had skidded across a harvested corn field into an area of cut trees.
Kingston was taken to a Muncie hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The FAA is investigating.
