Man killed in South Side shooting

A man died after being shot late Monday in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

Larry Edwards, 24, was sitting in a parked car about 11:40 p.m. in the 9300 block of South Burnside when a group of people walked out of an alley and someone opened fire, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Edwards, of the 1300 block of West 109th Street, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was later pronounced dead at 12:49 a.m. Tuesday, authorities said.
