Suspect in custody after North Riverside bank robbery

(NORTH RIVERSIDE) A suspect is in custody after a bank was robbed Tuesday in west suburban North Riverside.

The robbery happened at the Chase Bank branch at 1730 S. Harlem Ave. in North Riverside, according to the FBI.

The incident was classified as a non-takeover bank robbery.

The suspect, described as a Hispanic man about 5-foot-8, wearing a dark coat and brown boots, is in custody, according to the FBI.

There have been six bank robberies in the Chicago area so far in 2015, according to the FBI. There were 192 in 2014.
