More than a dozen American Airlines flights were canceled at O’Hare Airport Friday night after some fuel pumps froze up.

The pumps were reported frozen about 5:30 p.m., American Airlines spokeswoman Leslie Scott said.

As a result, 16 American Eagle flights — the smaller, regional planes — have been canceled, Scott said.

Fuel tanker trucks were going around to fuel other planes, Scott said. About a half-hour delay is expected for those flights.
