Man robs Wicker Park bank

A man robbed a bank Friday morning in the Wicker Park neighborhood on the North Side.

The man, who displayed a black pistol, robbed the North Community Bank branch at 1555 N. Damen Ave. about 10 a.m., according to the FBI.

The FBI described the incident as a “takeover robbery.”

The suspect is described as a 25 to 30-year-old black man between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-6, according to the FBI. He was wearing a gray hoodie, sunglasses, jeans and a black mask.
